PU hails scholarships by QASF

LAHORE: (Monday, March 02, 2026): Punjab University on Monday organized a special event to acknowledge and appreciate the generous assistance of the Qasim Ali Shah Foundation (QASF) to the deserving students of Punjab University through provision of scholarships. Currently, under its “Taleem Mumkin Scholarship Program,” the Foundation is sponsoring the education of 107 deserving university students. On this occasion, renowned motivational speaker and educationist Qasim Ali Shah, Director PU Planning & Development Prof Dr Hafiz Anwaar Asghar and students were present. Addressing the students, Qasim Ali Shah highlighted the vision and mission of the foundation. Established in 2017, he said, the QASF is a non-profit organization committed to grooming youth through personal development, leadership training, and motivational learning opportunities. He said that the foundation believes in the potential of young people and focuses on capacity building, self-motivation, skill development, and preparing future leaders for the betterment of society and Pakistan. He said that under the current collaboration from March 2025 to February 2026, 107 students of PU are receiving a monthly stipend of PKR 10,000 each. He said that by December 2025, a cumulative amount of PKR 9.33 million had already been disbursed to the current batch. Overall, from January 2021 to December 2025, the Foundation has provided scholarships worth PKR 55.13 million to students of PU. He said that so far Taleem Mumkin Scholarship Program has supported a total of 304 students, including 197 graduates, ensuring continuity of education for deserving students through sustained financial assistance. Speaking on the occasion, Director P&D;Prof Dr Hafiz Anwaar Asghar, presented the portfolio of the Student Financial Aid Office. He emphasized that the selection process is conducted strictly on fair, transparent, and merit-based criteria. He shared that interviews of more than 20,000 applicants have been conducted over time, many of whom belonged to remote and underprivileged areas of Pakistan. He also appreciated the voluntary services of QASF for the development of students and extended a vote of thanks to Mr. Qasim Ali Shah on behalf of PU. Success stories of scholarship recipients were also shared to highlight the transformative impact of financial support. Later, Mr Shah visited the Vice Chancellor’s office and met PU VC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali. During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor expressed his gratitude for the foundation’s continuous support and partnership in assisting deserving students.
